Best Way to Whiten Teeth at Home Fast

How Long Does it Take for Teeth Whitening to Work?

Looking for ways to save some money by whitening your teeth at home?

This article provides several methods that each work differently to brighten and whiten your teeth.

Below I talk about my experiences on trying to find the best way to whiten teeth at home fast.

As I tried each method, I found that my results were not the same as others I read about online.

<<<====I WANT the method worked the FASTEST====>>>

Being impatient, I am always trying to cut corners.  And, since I wanted FAST results, I was looking to cut any corner I could.

But, I found that if you don’t follow the directions on the package, you might finish the procedure fast, but you won’t necessarily get results fast.

So, not following the instructions could render the product useless and result in little or not change with respect to whitening.

When starting my search for the fastest way to whiten my teeth, I first looked at what I might be using daily.

I thought starting with a whitening toothpaste would be a great place to start.

So, I research if any of them could help quickly.  There are some that work relatively quickly.

But, I wanted something faster than they could deliver.

It doesn’t hurt to try a few brands to see which you prefer most.

On average, you should try a whitening toothpaste for about a month to see how much whitening it provides.

Some brands claim to whiten in less time, but a month is about average for the majority of whitening toothpaste brands.

Your dentist can help you to navigate the different brands and the different active ingredients so you can narrow down your list and choose one or two that are most likely to be effective for you.

Here is the teeth whitening toothpaste that I found worked the fastest:

White strips are also common and how long they take to work depends on the brand and type you choose.

Most strips are used for two weeks and you apply them twice daily for up to an hour each time.

However, there are a few brands that promise to work in two hours and you only use these for one or two days in a row.

Consider how much time you have to dedicate to teeth whitening and choose the strips that work with your time frame.

Why is Teeth Whitening Necessary?

White teeth are a sign of youth and vitality.

Over the years, stains on the teeth can build up, resulting in yellowing.

Aging itself can also lead to the teeth getting a bit darker.

If you smoke or eat or drink dark-pigmented foods or drinks, these will dull and yellow the teeth over time.

Teeth whitening works to lighten and remove stains to reveal white, bright teeth.

While it is important to practice good dental hygiene and have regular dental cleanings, this is often not enough to prevent staining.

Whitening products do what good dental hygiene can’t so that you always have a smile you can’t wait to show off.

While home methods might be fast enough for you, it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention that your Good ‘Ole Dentist is probably going to get your teeth the whitest the fastest.

Your dentist will recommend either an in-office whitening treatment or he or she will create a specialized kit that you will use at home.

In-office bleaching takes about two hours total and this includes preparation, the actual procedure and post-procedure cleanup.

Once the procedure is done, you immediately notice the whitening results.

Your dentist can use strong hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide to ensure that your gums are protected to avoid irritation.

After the procedure, prevent sensitivity with the administration of fluoride.

For about 24 hours after you have this procedure done, you need to avoid smoking and any drinks or foods with dark pigments so that no re-staining of your teeth occurs.

Your dentist can also create a whitening kit for you.

A teeth tray is created specifically for your teeth so that optimal whitening occurs without excessive gum irritation.

This is an advantage over over-the-counter kits because these don’t have trays that are fitted specifically for your mouth.

How long these kits take to work varies greatly.  This makes it almost impossible to say how long a kit your dentist makes takes to whiten your teeth.

On average, it may take two weeks to two months and your dentist will let you know the overall time commitment and exactly how the kit needs to be used.

DIY Instant Teeth Whitening

Strawberries

Strawberries, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide are fantastic home treatments to whiten teeth naturally.

Yummy Strawberries!!

Strawberries can be made into a paste by mixing baking soda and crushed strawberries together.  The malic acid they contain helps to dissolve stains.

Now, malic acid can be detrimental to your teeth if used too often, so this should only be done about once a week.

Allow the paste to sit on your teeth for five minutes.  Then gently brush the paste away with a soft-bristled toothbrush.

It takes about a month to start noticing results.

Baking Soda or Hydrogen Peroxide

Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide together to make a natural toothpaste.

Baking soda helps to remove stains because it is abrasive and it really scrubs the teeth well.

The strength of peroxide you get at the store isn’t likely to cause side effects, even when used frequently, but when combined with baking soda, using it more than twice a week is too harsh for your enamel and it can erode it.

To make a paste, pour some baking soda into a bowl and add enough peroxide to make a thick paste.

Between the scrubbing power of baking soda and the bleaching ability of hydrogen peroxide, this method can help to brighten teeth with one use.  When used regularly, you won’t notice whiter teeth in two to four weeks, depending on your level of staining.

Choose the best method that targets what your teeth need and how much you want to improve how white they are.

If you’ve read through an paid attention, you should now know how to whiten teeth fast.

Not so fast…

If your teeth need a lot of work, your best bet is having a dentist perform the whitening procedure.

However, if you only have slight staining or discoloration, save yourself some money.  You can easily try an over-the-counter or do-it-yourself method and likely get the results that you desire.
